Junior Branch is a program started by Glasford Bank and will continue in the the Glasford community thru Better Banks.
Junior Branch is a branch in the Illini Bluffs Elementary School!
The Junior Branch! is open every Friday morning from 7:50 to 8:15 before school in the commons (during the school year). During which time, children can deposit real money into their real savings account.
Your child can bring money to be deposited into their account, a teller will count their money, stamp their deposit ticket, and give them an envelope for the next week. Periodically they will receive an activity sheet or fun handout with age appropriate
information about banking. Once they have all the squares stamped on their deposit ticket, they will receive a prize and get a new ticket.
Our goal is to help teach children good money habits and the importance of saving.
We feel that not only is this a simple way to introduce the idea of saving and responsibility to your child, but also a great way for them to save for their future.
Kids are encouraged to bring in any amount of money for deposit. We accept crinkled up cash, coins found in couches, and checks from grandma.
Kids are not able to make withdrawals at the Junior Branch locations.
Additionally, Jr Bankers can make deposits at our 'Adult' locations at any time. These deposits will still count toward their prizes.
If you would like to participate in the Junior Branch program all you need to get started is a Better Banks savings account for your child.
