Julie Eliathamby, a Chinese Indian from Malaysia moved to the Unites States in 2005 and has lived in Peoria for the past 14 years. She is a multilingual, cross- cultural professional with over 25 years of experience in operations, customer service and sales.
Julie’s primary focus is building client centric teams and creating efficiency in processes. She loves an entrepreneurial challenge and has been active in consulting, as well as running her own import-retail and construction and interior design companies.
Julie oversees operations for the investment division at Better Banks. She is married to Jim, a native Peorian who works at Bradley University. They have one son at Peoria Notre Dame and a Junior at Bradley.
For the past seven years, Julie has been very involved in the Peoria Community. She founded the Tireless Project Peoria in 2015 and run that program for 2 ½ years before handing it over to JIMAX. In 2018, she founded Peoria Grown to tackle the food insecurity and community wellness program in Peoria.
Peoria Grown started Market 309 to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to those areas without access to grocery stores. The project started at Logan Center and has since expanded t other locations.
Julie handed out healthy treats to kids during the Peoria Grown Halloween activities.
