Better Your Community Contest
General
By submitting an entry to this contest, brought to you by 98.5 KISS FM (“Station”) and Better Banks (“Sponsor”), the entrant acknowledges and agrees to all of these official contest rules (“Official Rules”). NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where prohibited. By entering the contest, entrants agree to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error in these Official Rules, or the contest itself, and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by all decisions of the Sponsor, whose decisions are binding and final. Failure to comply with these Official Rules or any contest specific rules may result in disqualification from the contest.
Eligibility and Limitations
The contest is open only to legal Illinois residents who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry and reside in one of the local service areas, and is void wherever prohibited or restricted by applicable federal or state laws and regulations.
Employees of Station and Sponsor and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, advertising and promotion agencies, and members of these employees’ immediate families (spouses, parents, children,
and siblings and their spouses) and those living in the same household with these employees, are not eligible.
The winning person of the month will be notified by the 10th day of the following month. The winner of the month will be awarded
a check for $250 from Better Banks for the charity of their choice. A person is restricted to winning only one of the monthly prizes. Prizes are non-transferable. The winning charity is solely responsible for any and all applicable taxes (local, state
and federal) unless otherwise stated.
How to Enter
The contest begins on March 1, 2022. The contest will run through September 30, 2022 with a winner selected each month from all nominations received during the previous month. To nominate someone, go to Better Your Community Contest and nominate a person who is working to Better Your Community. Entrants must be the registered subscriber of the e-mail account from which the entry is made. You may only nominate someone once per day during each contest period. All entries become the property of Sponsor and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Selection of Winners
One nomination will be selected each month. All participants grant both the Station and the Sponsor exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use.
Additionally, all participants and nominations waive any and all claims of liability against both the Station and the Sponsor, its employees and agents, for any personal injury or loss, which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the contest, or from the use of any prize.
Prize
The winning person will receive a check for $250 from Better Banks to the local charity(s) of choice. Winners may be asked to show a photo ID. There will be no substitution, transfer or cash equivalent for prizes, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor, which may substitute prizes of comparable value. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes related to the award of the prize are solely the responsibility of the winner. The winner may be required to fully complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 for receipt of the prize.
Decisions
The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant or winner and may refuse to award any prize to a person who is ineligible or has violated any rule, gained unfair advantage in participating in the contest, or obtained winner status using fraudulent means. Further both the Station and Sponsor will resolve any disputes or ambiguities concerning the rules and any decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. The Sponsor reserve the right to modify or replace these rules at any time without notice. Verification that these rules are currently in force is the sole responsibility of the participant.
